Flowers, Critters,Textures and Color

Oh, how I like to paint flowers. I love their beauty and grace, the riots of color, their subtle shadings, and delicate petals. I frequently use pallet knives to complete my paintings. Occasionally, little animals and critters will hide behind my plants or crawl into my garden paintings. What could be more joyous than to bring this wonderful outdoor experience indoors and place one of these floral paintings in your home or office?

Whiskers in Green Fields

Whiskers in Green Fields
4x4, oil on panel

Today's painting, yes another rabbit, this is my second donation piece for the Salida Artwalk Auction. I guess they will have to just get by with my rabbits this year. Most years I do a painting of some geese and then a floral.... Let's see how the rabbits fare. Hip hop, hippity hop... Who will bid on the bunnies?

The Rabbit Hole

The Rabbit Hole
16 x 20
original acrylic painting

Today's painting is the 3rd in my new series of outdoor garden paintings. I like the simplicity of this painting and the high contrast. I want this series to be somewhat whimsical, and now I believe simplicity is the key. To view this painting and others, please visit my website.  SpohnStudio.com

Frank

Look who hopped into the studio today! A white rabbit, that I ended up naming Frank. I think he has been hopping about this area since Easter.
